Single Cylinder Column Engine

The engine is designed around a commercially available car engine cylinder liner. Ball and needle bearings are used on all rotating parts. The crosshead sliding surface is porous bronze with supplemental wick oiling. The bearings are self aligning making a really free runing engine capable of lots of work. Several have been built for small steam launches.
