The design requires no-castings and all lathe work can be done on a 9 inch lathe plus some milling.
The cylinders can be made of cast iron or steel.
The main bearing, crank bearings and eccentric bearings are all ball-bearings. The cross head bearings
are Torrington Needle Bearings. The crosshead guides are of trunk design.
The cylinder drains are connected by piping for convenient discharge during engine warm-up.
The cylinders are wood lagged. A displacement type lubricator is included in the plans.
The Feed water pump is driven by a timing belt at 1/3 engine speed and was designed for quiet operation,
the travel of the ball checks are controllable and the valve housing is removable with an O-ring seal.
